The Ancher Everyday collection is composed of simple and timeless shapes made for everyday habits. Each piece is hand glazed and hand finished. The Deep Plate is made with a deep green glaze on grey-brown clay.

The Deep Plate is very versatile and useful for breakfast, starters, smaller main courses, and desserts.

Note:: Due to the handmade nature of our stoneware, slight variations in shape or glaze may occur. Please note that our hand glazing process may also purposefully result in some movement in the glaze to bring life into the product. We recommend minimal use of sharp cutting knives to protect the glaze

Process

We make our stoneware pieces by spinning solid stoneware clay into the plaster moulds using our 60 years old semi-automatic tool giving each piece a unique shaping process. This is followed by trimming, logo stamping and glazing – all by hand. We consider the slight varying shapes or differences in glazes as part of the beauty of each piece. The stoneware clay used in production is local and of high quality without any water absorbance and the durability comes with this quality clay fired high at 1250 degrees. Our subtle glazes are developed by us and all mixed from natural materials ensuring a tactile and soft surface.

Craftmanship

We rely on the skills of the manufacturers in our production. More like a workshop than a large-scale factory, they work closely with the clay. This sets a rhythm for what we do. The craft takes time and there is a limit to what we can make.
